Spire Global hires Wylie as ANZ Business Development Manager


Space-based data, analytics and services provider Spire Global has appointed Dr Elizabeth Wylie as Head of Business Development for Australia and New Zealand.

“Australia and New Zealand are forward-looking countries investing heavily in the space industry, both from a government and commercial perspective,” said Arrow senior vice president of global sales Kamal Arafah.

“As we work to expand our footprint in this key region, Elizabeth will play a vital role with the expertise and experience gained from his more than 15 years of work for the Australian government and research institutes.”

Wylie joins Spire after holding several senior data science and innovation roles within the Australian Government.

She was previously a research fellow at the Australian National University

Wylie holds a BSc in Physics and Astronomy and a PhD in Astronomy, both from the University of Canterbury (New Zealand).

“I am delighted to join Spire to build on the successful collaborations they already have underway with industry, academia and government here in Australia,” said Wylie.

“Spire is a world leader in the development of space applications and services that have a real impact on society. I look forward to working with such inspiring leaders in the global space industry and continuing to build that passion for partnerships here in Australasia.

Spire plans to open an office in Melbourne by the end of September 2022.
