LEXINGTON, Kentucky (June 7, 2022) The University of Kentucky will host the annual College Business Management Institute (CBMI) July 24-28, 2022. Co-sponsored by the Southern Association of College and University Business Officers (SACUBO), it will be the 69th anniversary of the institute, which was housed at the University of Kentucky since its inception.

The CBMI offers an intensive study program in business management and tax management for college and university administrators. Participants can earn Continuing Professional Credit (CPE) while taking courses taught by distinguished faculty and practicing leaders. Participants will discuss the latest issues and topics, develop professional relationships, and gain a broader perspective of higher education business administration.

“We are thrilled to partner with SACUBO and welcome CBMI back to Lexington,” said Drew Ard, Director of CBMI and Senior Event Management Specialist in the Office of University Events. “This is the first in-person CBMI conference since 2019, following a virtual hiatus resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope to attract over 600 University Affairs Officers with a strong program focused on budget processing, ancillary services, accreditation, alternative revenue streams, and cash management among many other topics.

There are no pre-requisites to enroll in the CBMI. Classes range from beginner to advanced, and participants can earn up to 28 hours of CPE each year for three years to eventually receive a certificate of completion. Participants from outside of central Kentucky can join optional tours of a local horse farm, Buffalo Trace Distillery and the University of Kentucky campus.

“SACUBO is the premier association for excellence in financial and administrative services in higher education,” said Andrew Smith, assistant vice president for ancillary services. “Bringing CBMI to our campus provides a tremendous opportunity for professional development and encourages networking with our colleagues from peer institutions.

CBMI registration is now open. Participants who enroll in the Cash Management track are eligible for a limited number of scholarships on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information on scholarships and registration, email cbmi@uky.edu
