Poole College of Management appoints Jonathan Bohlmann as Head of Business Management Department


NC State Poole College of Management announces Jonathan Bohlmann, professor of marketing and innovation, as head of the business management department following internal research. Bohlmann has been acting head of department since September 2021, replacing Sebastian Heese who previously held the position.

As Department Head, Bohlmann will work closely with Dean Frank Buckless and be responsible for department administration and provide leadership in all aspects of departmental activities. Other duties include performance appraisals, program evaluation and review, fostering external relations with the business community, and representing the department in college and university planning and strategy development.

Bohlmann joined Poole College in 2008 as an associate professor of marketing and previously held assistant professorships of marketing at Michigan State University and Purdue University. His research focuses on innovation, new product development, design thinking and marketing and has been published in the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Sciences, Product Innovation Management Journal and Marketing Review.

In 1996, Bohlmann earned her doctorate in marketing from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also earned an MBA from Texas Christian University in 1991 and a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue University.
