SRUC has a long experience in delivering training programs in rural enterprise management. Current training programs include HNC, HND, BA (Hons) in areas of rural business management. This has a RICS accreditation stream. As well as agriculture, wildlife and the countryside, and various animal-related skills. The SRUC has also established the Entrepreneurial Academy for the Natural Economy (EARN) to support innovation and enterprise within its student body and staff.
The candidate must be able to deliver the Rural Business Management program at HN and Diploma level. It is an RICS accredited program. The candidate must be able to deliver modules in finance, management and innovation, as well as other areas of business management and to participate in student recruitment activities. The candidate should enjoy the challenge of teaching business subjects to students from other cohorts, for example, agriculture and wildlife and countryside, in addition to rural business management students.
The course also involves taking students on trips to real companies and it would be an advantage if the successful candidate is qualified [or willing to take the test] driving a minibus.
- Teach and support HN and UG students, supervise projects and theses Maintain a portfolio of teaching activities of high quality, reputation and impact. Continuously develop teaching and learning approaches that are innovative in the field and reflect best practice. Actively participate in the development of disciplinary pedagogy and teaching, learning and evaluation strategies. Involvement in continuing professional development in relation to teaching and, where appropriate, related professional practices. Contribute to the development of a curriculum to meet industry needs Contribute to the development, application and maintenance of academic standards in a defined field of work to advance the academic development of students.

- Establish/maintain a developmental research trajectory that complements existing work within the REES department and across SRUC Supervise students engaged in postgraduate courses Lead and/or contribute to funding offers and related activities, including knowledge exchange, which develop and maintain support for the subject area and recognized excellence for the institution Contribute actively to subject matter specialty through engagement with RICS and other learned societies and professional bodies .
