AIA Focuses on Business Growth with Expansion of Business Development Team


AIA Corporation (AIA), Appleton, Wisconsin, recently welcomed two new members to its business development team as part of its continued focus on strategic growth.

Wendy Smith, CPIM, MASI, joins as Vice President of Business Development and will oversee the team. Smith will report to Rich Berg, senior vice president of owner success.

Additionally, Paula Klingman has been hired as Business Development Manager, joining the existing team of managers, all of whom will report to Smith.

In his new role, Smith will focus on strategy, team development and outreach to entrepreneurial and growing distributors. Under his leadership, the team will leverage their decades of combined industry experience to understand a distributor’s individual needs and provide solutions using AIA’s tools, resources, and community support.

With over 20 years of experience, Smith’s career has included business development and management positions at companies such as Gallo Winery, Hammacher Schlemmer and Rand McNally. In her most recent role at Digital Products International Inc. (DPI), she led internal and external sales teams that focused on rewards and recognition programs, the promotional products industry, retail, specialized distributors and home shopping networks. A longtime member of the Promotional Products Association International (PPAI), the Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI), and the Incentive Marketing Association (IMA), Smith earned his Master of Advertising Specialty Information (MASI) from ASI and is an IMA Certified Incentive Management Professional (CPIM).
